Rage
  by Jonathan Kellerman
The Diva Review:

Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis are back at it again in this decent, well crafted thriller. If you like Jonathan Kellerman, you know his style and can probably zip through his books in fairly short order. Fortunately, he's a prolific writer.

This one is a little darker than some of the others. I've noticed that he's been getting darker as time has gone on. The book follows the standard Delaware formula but with a lot of extra creepiness. Maybe too much. Rage takes Alex and Milo into the past to explore the truth behind the killing of a young child. The two boys who were convicted of the murderers were sent to jail, where one died behind bars. The second is now 21 and has been set free. His first order of business is to contact the psychologist who handled the case, Alex Delaware. Though it seems like he has pertinent information to impart about what really happened, he is murdered before he and Alex can meet.

Naturally, Milo is on the case and Alex is consulting. They delve into some pretty perverse stuff and turn up some shocking facts about what really happened. All in all, it's a solid mystery thriller. I wouldn't recommend it as the first Kellerman you read, but if you already know Alex and Milo, go for it!
